Action for the Delaware

‍Action for the Delaware documents a performance in which I float down the Delaware river on a buoyant device that allows me to appear as though I am standing on the surface of the river. Calibrated exactly to my weight, I stand on the apparatus in a delicate balance with the moving water, occupying a liminal space in the landscape as the river slowly determines my course downstream. The video cuts back and forth between these illusionist moments in which I effortless move with the current, and scenes later in the journey, where I struggle to stay atop of the apparatus.
